  • Robert E. Lee

    Principal- Managing Partner

    With deep experience in commercial real estate investment and development including roles in investment banking, advisory, and institutional capital markets he has a broad range of experience across the real estate investment spectrum. Prior to Lee’s current focus in the Healthcare real estate sector as part of the leadership team at Health Care Property Advisors (HPA), Lee has worked across most real estate product types and sectors with private and public real estate platforms with a focus on creating programmatic joint ventures around niche real estate acquisition and development strategies. Multifamily investing has been a two-decade passion for Lee and he continues to build a long-term-hold value add portfolio in the Southeast with select private investors.

    Lee has direct experience in placing or advising on over $4 billion in equity capital over the last decade.  Lee has over 23years of direct experience in real estate investment, private and institutional capital markets. Lee received a BA in Business with a concentration in Marketing from Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) and completed his graduate studies earning an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Management. Designations include training as a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and is also a 2010 graduate of the J.W. Levine Leadership Academy. Robert has served in various leadership and board roles including President of the Greater Southern California CCIM, Graduate of Southern California’s NAIOP sponsored YPG program, ULI’s Young Leaders, IREI Springboard Alumnus, and served as Chairman of Pepperdine Universities Graziadio Alumni Network. Robert is also a member of the Atlas chapter of Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

    Believing Service and Philanthropy is important, Lee has served actively as a leadership facilitator through the International Balfour Leadership Training Foundation (BLTW) focused on mentoring collegiate leaders throughout the country and has participated in a variety of fundraising for charity including Wounded Warriors Foundation, St. Jude Children’s, American Cancer Foundation among others. Lee is an active member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Mr. Lee holds a California Real Estate Brokers License.

  • Trey Pennington

    Principal

    Trey Pennington is a proven corporate and industrial real estate advisor who has earned his clients’ trust by consistently providing comprehensive and sophisticated services to owners and users of industrial real estate.
    Trey’s experience, systematic approach, and work ethic, allows him and his team to consistently deliver a results-driven process designed to effectively align companies’ real estate portfolios to their strategic goals. This coupled with Trey’s ability to selectively leverage the global resources of CBRE to build a dedicated team for each client, has made Trey a preferred advisor to many owners and users of industrial real estate that are operating in multiple markets.

    Trey joined CBRE in April 2007, from KPMG where he advised multinational corporations in international tax compliance and valuation of corporate assets for business combinations. Prior to working with KPMG, Trey worked for COPA Airlines in Panama as a process management consultant. While earning his post graduate degrees in both International Business and Law, Trey had the opportunity to work at two Columbia, South Carolina law firms performing real estate legal analysis and at the SC Department of Commerce assisting in tax incentive consulting.

    In 2005, Trey earned both his Juris Doctorate and an International Masters of Business Administration (IMBA) from the University of South Carolina School of Law and The Darla Moore School of Business, respectively. As an undergraduate at USC, Trey earned three Bachelor of Science degrees; two in Business Administration (Marketing and Management) and one in Sports Administration. These experiences, along with a team-oriented mindset have helped to make Trey one of the most effective advisors in the Southeast.

    Trey enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids and is active in a number of philanthropic and professional organizations including:

  • Blair Herbert

    Principal

    Blair is an experienced business professional with deep understanding of capital raising, transaction structuring and execution, tax efficient structures, finance and due diligence. Blair is currently a co-founder and Managing Director at Coast Energy Capital where he is responsible for capital raising and executing on the firms commercial solar development and financing business. Blair also leads the company’s work with commercial real estate owners in utilizing solar and other energy saving measures to qualify for agency and other green loans.

    Prior to starting Coast, Blair co-founded Kina’ole Capital, a boutique residential and small commercial solar finance provider, where he successfully closed several tax equity based funds with partners including Patagonia, Bank of Hawaii, New Resource Bank and Beneficial State Bank. Blair was also responsible for closing a first of its kind solar fund with then leading solar origination partner, Sungevity, Inc.

    Before entering solar, Blair served as a VP for Liquiddium Capital Partners where we ran the acquisitions and investment structuring group for the apartment and self-storage syndicator. Blair also managed the firm’s investor relations department. Blair originally began his career as a Financial Analyst for Trammel Crow Company where he was responsible for analyzing and performing due diligence on a $2B office portfolio acquisition and was the analyst for the firms national Chevron corporate services account.

    After earning a BS from Clemson University, Blair attended the University of South Carolina where he earned both International MBA and Juris Doctor (JD) degrees. Blair also attended ESADE in Barcelona where he studied Spanish and business.

    Blair enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two daughters, Axi and Amelia. Blair coaches his daughters AYSO soccer teams, regularly volunteers at his daughters’ school and recently started a non-profit (Good Energy) to recycle used solar panels which can be redeployed to provide free solar systems in underserved communities.
